3 Things That Surprised Us The Most
I was in the same boat until about two and half years ago. Back in November of 2011, we began one of the most rewarding relationships since our video production business was founded 8 years ago. We were invited to produce the monthly video spotlight for the Chamber’s member organizations. The businesses and individuals we had the pleasure of interviewing were passionate, helpful, and provided a unique sense of community and cooperation. And yes, I am not only their videographer; eTown Videos is also a member.
Ok, here are 3 things we learned that I’d like to share:
1. Diversity: The chamber’s members are a mix of tremendously diverse businesses and services. Banks, restaurants, doctors, insurance companies, creative design businesses, and community organizations to name a few. Frankly, we didn’t even know some of the businesses existed until we joined the chamber and created videos for them. The cool thing is – we now use many of their services for our business and some of the organizations have become video productions customers for their training and marketing videos.
2. Knowledge: The business owners we interviewed are not only managers of their businesses but are industry experts with a deep level of experience. They have tremendous confidence that elicits trust in their ability to provide a superior service.
3. Community: We just love the sense of community and support for each other’s businesses. We didn’t just become business partners, but also friends who help each other’s causes. There is a drive within each member to help you not only grow your business but make our community stronger.
Meeting all the local entrepreneurs and business owners has been a lot of fun! We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a great community.
